The US Embassy in Lebanon said on Friday that there had been 12 hours of calm on the Blue Line that represents the border with Israel, where daily exchanges of fire were occurring between Hezbollah and Israel.
Residents reported that the border had been calm since Friday morning, with the exception of small-scale shooting from Israel. This comes in light of a temporary truce brokered by Qatar between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza, a truce that did not officially extend to Lebanon.
