The American Fox News network quoted American officials as saying that the Houthis fired two ballistic missiles towards an American destroyer on Sunday evening in the Gulf of Aden.
It said that two American destroyers tracked the missiles, which failed to hit the target and landed in the Gulf of Aden.
Officials confirmed that what happened came after the US Navy thwarted the hijacking of a tanker and arrested 5 militants.
She stated that the Pentagon views this incident as a major escalation in Houthi threats.
